Corporate Blogging: Killer App Or Corporate Killer?

Written by Kent Lewis for WebProNews

We all know how popular blogs have become, especially in the past few years. Millions of blogs are being created and read every day. As such, many companies see the potential and are jumping on the bandwagon. Unfortunately, an ill-conceived corporate blog strategy can generate lawsuits, angry customers or employees and a bad brand experience.

Since I first started off in the search engine marketing industry in 1996, I’ve managed an ezine, so I know a little about publishing. Since then, I’ve also consulted with clients on their corporate blogs and newsletter strategies. Based on my experience, I’ve identified 7 key elements to developing a successful corporate blog strategy.

Characteristics of Successful Salespeople

Written by Kelley Robertson for EntireWeb

What separates successful sales people from everyone else? I believe that most successful sales people, in virtually any industry, possess the following characteristics:

1. They are persistent
Selling or running a business for a living requires a tremendous amount of persistence. Obstacles loom in front of us on a regular basis. But it’s what you do when faced with these barriers that will determine your level of success. I believe it was Brian Tracy who once said that a person will face the most challenging obstacle just before they achieve their goal. The most successful people in any industry have learned to face the obstacles that get in their way. They look for new solutions. They are tenacious. They refuse to give up.

Blogs with a Purpose (Part 1)

Written by Robin Nobles for SiteProNews

Few people can dispute the power of blogs. We saw how they affected the U.S. presidential election of 2004. When used correctly, blogs can have an amazing effect on your Web site. In fact, I would go so far as to say I believe every business site needs a blog . . . if used properly and in the manner in which they were designed to be used.

What are Blogs?

Blogs are online journals that can be used in a variety of different ways. In a personal sense, families can keep track of each other across the globe by posting to a family blog. One family member posts, then another member adds their comment underneath the post, and so forth.

Written by Dave Davies for ISEDB.com

From reading the title many of you are probably wondering what W3C compliance has to do with SEO and many more are probably wondering what W3C compliance is at all. Let’s begin by shedding some light on the latter.

What Is W3C Compliance?

Search Engine Marketing Research Findings

This research attempts to obtain business firms’ views on search engine marketing. It gives valuable implications to both business and search engine marketing firms.

GoogleNet Continued… Welcome To The Future

Jason Lee Miller for WebProNews

Just when you thought Google couldn’t get any more jaw-dropping with its latest explorations, you realize with a sudden and exasperated “omigod” that this is bigger…much bigger than we imagined. Google, NASA, and MIT are going to change the world…again.

It was titillating enough to think of the seemingly inevitable GoogleNet, an ad-supported wireless network that would transform the Internet into a broadcast-style medium like radio or television. The scope of that, in the immediate future anyway, was hedged by US borders (or North American borders perhaps).

Yahoo Ups Ante With Site Explorer

Written by John Stith for WebProNews

Yahoo launched their much-anticipated Site Explorer on Thursday. Yahoo discussed the Site Explorer during SES San Jose but at the time, it was just talk. Now, intrepid explorers may hack through the jungles of URL by visiting both the sites and the inlinks.

The service is separated from other forms of search, because it doesn’t work from search terms, it works from URLs. One pastes in a particular URL into the box and all the subpages indexed by Yahoo show up. If you need to see a subpage under path, that’s possible too.
